Back Stage with Andrea and Shania @ The Boo Bomb

Meet Shania (Left) & Andrea (Right). Two talented and beautiful young ladies from San Francisco. Nia and Drea were asked to be back up dancers for Baby Bash's new single "Cyclone," during his performance in The Boo Bomb Concert at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. Their story starts early Tuesday afternoon as they got ready for the event.Arleta from Mac in Serramonte Shopping Center in Daily City helped do pre-hair and make up before the show. We then jumped into the car and braced our selves for the long drive from the City to San Jose. Our first stop was at the Marriot Hotel to meet with Baby Bash's entourage. The hotel lobby was a who's who of "Hip-Pop" celeberties. Fabulous, T-Pain, Soulja Boy, Baby Bash, plus managers, Def Jam reps and entourages. At approxmately 8:04pm after lounging in the lobby waiting to leave for the concert that had been going since 7pm, we were hit with a 5.6 magnitude quake that shook the Bay Area. But that didn't stop the show. In fact the young crowd of teenagers that attended the Boo Bomb paid little mind to the quake. After waiting over an hour in the hotel lobby we made our way to the concert. YOUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I caught Soulja Boy doing the Superman DJ Michael--with an umlat over the e-- aka the singer on "Cyclone", from Paris France. Drummer (Sorry Homie I'm bad with names Email me and I'll fix this) --From Chicago (Left to Right), Stooie Bros, Drea, Baby Bash, Shania Paula Deana and her mother, who share a very endearing mother daughter relationship. and of course Drea & Shania.a

Skin Vandals Art Show, October 2007

Being bombarded by all over print shirts and hoodies, Ms. Nina almost forgot what real art work consisted of. In search for the ever lacking substance to visual stimuli she came upon the oppurtunity to attend the opening of the The Skin Vandals Art Show: Anno Domino (Latin for "In the year of our Lord" commonly used as the abbreviation A.D.) Gallery on SouthFirst St. in San Jose hosted the event. The art work displayed on the white walls of the gallery exhibited an aray of artistic mediums; from paint to etching this collection was truely inspiring. Each piece, proof of the dilegence the artist has for her/his craft. Painting By: Silvia Ji Miss Silvia Ji is on of my new favorite artist list. 25 year old Frisco Native, Silvia has had her work shown all around the nation. Protect the Civil Rights of our Youth: Take Action to Free the Jena 6

Davey D of Block Radio and Youth Organizer Rudy from United Players October 2nd's demonsration (to Free the Jena 6) outside of the new federal building on 7th and Mission St., Downtown S.F. had a sparse turn out for a city that has a strong history of activists, revolutionaries, and civil rights advocates. The people who came to support the movement to free the Jena 6 , were passionate about the cause and were well informed but the energy level was low. Which got me to wondering... where have all the youth organizations gone? Aside from the cluster of black-tees baring the maxim "It takes the hood to save the hood" in large white block letters, belonging to United Players (U.P) a SOMA based youth organization, but other than that the out come of youth was next to nothing. There were no youth speakers or reflections from the younger generation. It's important to educate our youth and encourage them to take a stand on events that effect them as American citizens. The Civil Rights of these 6 young men have been shamefully violated in Jena, Louisiana it is worthy of discussion and organization to action for school aged youth. Which the this particular rally lacked. Teachers talk to your kids and Listen to what they have to say. Kids, listen and talk to your parents your voices should be heard.
